Reservations
How to reserve and pre-reserve babies.
It is important to read this entire page!
To reserve babies go to one of the baby picture pages via the NEW LITTERS page and pick out the little ones you like that have Available typed underneath the picture. Send me an e-mail with a bit about yourself and your rat experience. Then fill out the Reservation Request Form. Let me know your choice and your name, phone number and city you live in. If you like you can visit the rattery and pick out your little ones in person (which is, of course, a lot more fun).
To pre-reserve babies before the litter is born or before pictures are up on the website fill out the pre-reservation section of the Reservation Request Form. Describe what you are hoping for.....color, markings, ear type, male or female, etc. and I will put you on the waiting list. Then I will contact you if and when I have what you want.
IMPORTANT: If this is the first time you've e-mailed me please include something about yourself and your rats. If you are going to be a first-time rat owner let me know that too. I will be happy to help you get started.
I will take double reservations on babies. That way if the first person changes their mind I will notify you of the recent availability of that baby. * If an adoptive parent misses their appointment to pick up their baby and does not contact me within 24 hours I will drop their reservation. *
If on the day of your appointment you discover you will not be able to make it over PLEASE CALL ME ON THE PHONE 626-737-4737. Do not send an e-mail!
I must have your first and last name, phone number and city you live in to reserve or pre-reserve rats. A non-refundable deposit of half the adoption fee is required. A non-refundable full pre-payment is required when the adopter lives out of the area or out of state and/or I am asked to hold the baby rat longer than one week past the "AVAILABLE" date listed on the baby's litter page. I ask this because I want only serious adopters reserving rats. Refunds will be given if the reservation is cancelled before the Available date on the website.
If you change your mind and do not want the reservation please, please be considerate and let me know as soon as possible so I can make the baby available again so that he or she will find a loving home.

 Visiting Ratz Realm
Before visiting The Realm please do not handle newly acquired rats still in their two week quarantine period or go to pet stores and handle rats. Viruses can spread very quickly from your hands and even clothes within an hour or so of handling new or unknown pet rats. If you have to go to a pet store plan going the day before or go home and wash and change your clothes before coming to Ratz Realm.
If you need to go to the pet store after picking up your new ratties at The Realm, again, don't handle the pet store rats. Be safe, not sorry. I want all my babies to be happy and healthy in their new homes.
Remember, a little will power and common sense on our part will show how much we love our new rattie friends.

After Visiting Ratz Realm
Please remember to quarantine your new Ratz Realm rats for a period no less than two weeks. I prefer to meet people in my home rather than meet at a park and only bring the babies requested. Since I do love to show off my rats in the comfort of my home it is very important to honor quarantine procedures. Quarantine of Realm rats is vital in the event someone disregards my wishes, handles other rats or fails to quarantine, and comes to The Realm carrying a rat specific virus on their hands or clothes. Please don't be that person! Please!
I know I feel bad when having to quarantine a single rat. I worry the baby will be lonely and frightened. That is one reason why adopting new rats in same sex pairs is beneficial. Two rats leaving their mother and siblings for the first time together makes for an easier transition for both babies.
